Patricia & Spyder Still ROCk!
Neil 'Spyder' Giraldo, an amazing guitarist, put out more sound than any two guitarists combined. The crowd was huge, spanning all age groups, and kept on its feet almost the entire show. The band/audience interaction was electric. This show FAR surpassed all my expectations and was easily the best I've seen so far this summer. Animated, personable, and technically amazing, Neil 'Spyder' Giraldo is one of the best live guitarists I have ever seen.
Chance The Rapper, still HOT at age 58, delivered a beautiful and powerful show, despite her voice being a bit hoarse at first. Clad in all black, she needed no pyrotechnics, light show, or sound gimmicks to belt out a blistering show with narry a dull moment. The great tunes just kept on coming and the audio, after a brief rough start, was superb.
Highlights included "Shadows of the Night," "Promises In The Dark," "Love is a Battlefield," "Let's Stay Together," "Invincible," a crowd sing-along revved-up version of "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," "We Belong," "Sex As A Weapon," and the closing encore classic "Heartbreaker." Opening with "All Fired Up," the show also included, of all things, Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" - which somehow worked!! Fabulous show!
